VDIS10043 Garment Design & Construction 2
Credit Points 15
The technical foundation of garment creation evolves from two different methods of creation. The first is pattern cutting, using formula to create basic blocks, which are then adapted into garments. The second method is using a dress form or model to create designs in a 3D capacity. This method is known as draping. Draping still involves making a paper pattern once the design is confirmed and is therefore seen predominantly in eveningwear due to the extra time it takes to complete the finished garment.
